Dear RSA Parents:

On behalf of the RSA PTSA Executive Board, welcome to a new and exciting year at Riverside STEM Academy!  The RSA Community is committed to providing the best possible environment for our students to thrive and learn.  The PTSA is an integral part of that equation!

Please join PTSA! Enclosed is an envelope for membership.  The cost is $6.75 per member. Our goal is 100% of students, parents and school staff to join PTSA.  Please turn in your membership envelopes along with payment on Registration Day to the PTSA table or afterwards to the front office.

In order to maximize our students’ success, it is vital that we have RSA Parent involvement.  There are many ways for you to provide support: if you are in the STEM field, you can participate as a symposium speaker, tutor, coach or mentor.  If you are connected to a STEM industry, you could help bridge a connection to RSA.  We also have many needs for volunteers as club leaders & coaches, club & team coordinators (helpers), fundraiser helpers, science camp coordinators & chaperones, field trip chaperones, class helpers, cooks and bakers, campus beautification coordinator & helpers, handy men, etc.  Please see the enclosed volunteer registration form for more information.  Your completed volunteer registration form can be turned in to the RSA PTSA table on Registration Day or afterwards to the front office.

We welcome you to join us for a PTSA board meeting held on the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM in the PTSA conference room.  For further information, please visit the school website.

Our Goals for the 2016-2017 school year:

     · PTSA is committed to fundraising for the enrichment of the STEM curriculum.  We will hold two major fundraisers:
Traditional Catalog Order Fundraiser in October and the Color Run & Silent Auction in April.

     · PTSA will allocate $2,000 for both the 6th grade and 8th grade science camps in order to lower the total per student
       cost of camp (from above).

     · PTSA will hold a Welcome Back Picnic in September to kick off the new school year.

     · PTSA provides a monthly newsletter and a Facebook and Instagram accounts to help you stay in touch with RSA.

     · PTSA advocates for the expansion of the RSA facility and program.

     · PTSA supports the RSA Community including the students, parents, teachers and staff in order to maximize learning
       opportunities for our RSA students.

We look forward to getting to know you in the new year!  If you ever have any questions, please contact a board member (see school website for an updated list).

Sincerely,

Laura Merickel
