Jackson Elementary is pleased to announce Mrs. Arteaga as Certificated Employee of the Year. Mrs. Arteaga
exemplifies every quality any parent or student would request in identifying
the ideal teacher. She is kind,
nurturing, humorous, hard-working, communicative, structured, organized,
prepared and cares deeply for the students and families she serves. She demonstrates a passion for her
responsibilities that is apparent in everything she does and says. Her skills in instructional pedagogy are
effective, research-based and on target to meet the learning needs of her

embraced the shifts in the Common Core State Standards with enthusiasm and
models those shifts for colleagues for the benefit of all.Her skills in incorporating technology into
everyday instruction not only benefit her own students, but students in her
teammates’ classrooms as well.She isn’t
afraid to try new things and continually searches for new strategies that
support learning.As a result, her
second grade students are generating presentations done on Google Slides, are
completing projects to demonstrate their concept attainment in a variety of
content areas, or are working together in learning groups in a
student-centered, highly engaged environment.
Mrs. Arteaga is a
strong voice and advocate for all the students at Jackson and is a leader among
the staff. She has served as Grade Level
Team Leader, PTA member, School Site Council member, volunteers for a variety
of school committees, such as the Carnival Committee, Jump Rope for Heart, and
is always willing to help when needed.
