At the 2016 California Envirothon, the fierce Arlington Lions’ team took overall 4th in the state, 3rd place in Aquatics, and 3rd in Oral Presentation.
The Ramona High School Dynasty Band and Color Guard were certified today by Guinness World Records as having the Largest Monopoly Board Game ever. The certification is not for the amount of people, but rather, the size of the board. The game was played on January 22, 2016, gargantuan dice and all, and the results were immediately sent off to Guinness for certification.

The Cesar Chavez Club at University Heights Middle was delighted to welcome UFW President Arturo Rodriguez, of the organization that Chavez himself founded! This, just one day after Cesar Chavez Day. The students showed off their garden, and asked Mr. Rodriguez help them plant a peach tree. Then, they served up an ice cold glass of fresh squeezed lemonade direct from their garden. It was quite a morning!

Riverside Unified School District (RUSD), along with eight other school districts, will be announcing the formation of the Inland Empire Code Consortium, the largest alliance of school districts in California to partner with the non-profit Code.org. The goal of this consortium is to increase participation in computer science courses by women and underrepresented students of various ethnic backgrounds.
